I start rehearsals for Gogol’s “The Government Inspector” in May which will play in June at the Courtyard Theatre in Hoxton. It’s a great play and although written in the 1880’s it could not be more relevant today. I will post performance details as soon as I have them.

In August I travel to Bergen, Norway to direct “The Woman in Black” I’m very excited as the guys I have to play Kipps and the Actor are great actors. Also this will be the first time the play will be performed in Scandinavian. Again when I have more details I will post them. So if want a little trip away visit Bergen and see the play…..

And “Don’t Feed the Drama” workshops start very soon keep checking the “don’t feed the drama” page for details.

Jason B Moore is a theatre and film director, working on various projects from classical to new writing and everything in between. When Jason started directing he mainly worked with new writing and then classical, where he found there wasn’t much of a difference between the two, and that all drama can be approached similarly. All of his work involves the discovery of our surrounding situation and how that effects who we are, so any given moment is truthful. He asks us to explore the way we behave, what makes us act or react, all the while encouraging us to stay in a state of play to achieve truth. Jason has his own theatre company where artists from many disciplines of the arts are brought together to create. He is currently working on a project through workshops and conversations with actors and non actors to explore the non acting of acting ‘Why Feed the Drama?”.

Jason’s work has played at such venues as The Soho Theatre, The Pleasance Theatre, New End Theatre, Barons Court Theatre,The Tristan Bates Theatre,The Project Theatre, Dublin and Bergen, Norway.

Jason was an actor before becoming a director, he attended Arts Educational Schools in London for three years and towards the end of his third year joined the first cast of the  Royal Shakespeare Company and Opera North’s production of Showboat at the London Palladium, Jason then became a member of the original cast of Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat also at the London Palladium produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber. After playing various roles in plays and musicals etc Jason started to teach and found that the style and what he was asked to teach didn’t interest him enough as it appeared to be by route and not very creative. He was asked to direct a play and reluctantly he did direct, but found that directing is where he wanted to spend his energy and creativity, and any experience he gained as a actor led him to be a director. Jason has had the fortune either as an actor, director or assistant director to work with diverse creative people such as Andrew Lloyd Webber, Steven Pimlott, Bette Bourne, Tim Fountain and Rikki Beadle-Blair etc.

Testimonials:

“As a regular valued Guest Director we are always excited to have Jason Moore at the helm! As a facilitator, he is compelling, disarming and well versed. He encourages actors to challenge themselves, their techniques and their inhibitions, all the while providing a safe place to do so. His enthusiasm manifests in a rousing drive to connect to, create with and engage fellow artists. Jason has an unmitigated passion for the work that is inspiring and contagious.”
Ursula Campbell, Producer + Co.Creator, TRANSMISSION

“What a pleasure it was to meet you and experience your style in directing this evening! I had almost given up hope trying to find a director who can see the work the way I do, let alone similar actors to work with. I’m delighted to make you acquaintance and I genuinely hope there will be an opportunity for us to work together.”

“These powerful issues are ripped from the heart of the script and brutally moulded by the masterful hands of Jason Moore, a director who deserves to be seen working on much larger projects”
(Fringe First)

“Despite the raw subject matter this play succeeds in being truly funny. The audience are afforded a moment to relax through the laughter this dark humour creates, and it is a testament to the director, Jason B Moore “
